

Marion Vogel passed away on August 13, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born Marion Elise Tunison in Paso Robles, California, in 1927. Her parents were Basil and Donna Tunison. Marion spent her childhood in Paso Robles. She attended the public schools, rode her favorite horse around the countryside and hills, and spent time with friends. During her senior year of high school, she was chosen to be May Queen. After graduation, she went to UC Berkeley, where she became a Tri-Delta sorority sister, and completed her degree in Art History. She married and raised four children in Visalia. She was a loving, devoted mother and her family was the most important thing in her life. She was an active participant in PTA, Las Madrinas Hospital Guild, and Visalia Ventures Investment Club. She was a wonderfully creative cook and hostess who could prepare a delicious meal for any size gathering. She had a green thumb and a flair for landscape design. In later years, she developed an interior design business, which took her to cities such as New Orleans, Washington D.C., Portland Oregon and Paso Robles. In addition, she traveled the world with family and friends. She enjoyed trips to Europe and Central America. She went to China, Japan and Bali. One of her favorite destinations was Cabo San Lucas, where she enjoyed the beautiful beaches, the culture and the climate.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Basil and Donna, her sisters: Arleen and Donna Louise and her second husband Walter. She is survived by her daughters: Linda and Diane, her sons: Fred and wife Nancy, Alan and wife Debbie, her first husband Frederic. She also leaves behind her grand-daughters: Heather, Stephanie and Holly as well as great-grandsons: Caleb and Colton.
