Marlene Joyce Ojeda, a Paso Robles native born February 1942 to Reginald and Ruth Garcia passed peacefully in her sleep last Sunday at Casa de Flores Senior Residence. Marlene graduated from Paso Robles High School in 1960 and went on to marry the boy next door the very same year. Marlene had a love for old country music and was an avid Giants baseball and 49ers fan, her love for sports did not stop there, she was a softball player, T-Ball coach and bowled on a women's league down at the old Wilsons on Spring st. Marlene spoke with her eyes and her laugh was contagious, she will be remembered for her smile and kind and gentle nature. Marlene is survived by her brothers, Don and Patricia Garcia of Weed, Calif., and Richard Garcia of Paso Robles, and sister Louise Robinson of Paso Robles. Her three children: Phillip and Makena Ojeda, John Ojeda and Linda Ojeda as well as seven beloved grandchildren: Angela, Danielle, Michael, Darien, Dominique, John and Jack. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Phillip Ojeda and brother Jim. We as a family would like to thank the caregivers at Casa de Flores for the incredible care, love and attention that was paid to our mother in her last years and a huge thank you to Wilshire Hospice for making her as comfortable as possible in the end. A Mass will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, August 25th at St. Rose Catholic Church in Paso Robles.
