Betty Ellen Merrill, 89, of Pataskala, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Tuscany Gardens. She was born on April 18, 1932 in M. Liberty, OH, a daughter to the late Carl and Evelyn (Hall) Chalfant. Betty was a member of Family Ties and the Red Hats Society. She also worked at Pataskala Bank for approximately 14 years and Buckeye Union Insurance for 25 years. Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Terri Phillips and Tina (Thomas) Nelson; daughter-in-law, Marianne Merrill; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Priscilla Chalfant and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Dane Merrill; son, Mark Merrill and siblings, Mary (Johnny) Wittman and Donald Chalfant. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Honoring the family’s wishes, following the visitation cremation will take place. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Pataskala United Methodist Church, 458 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH, with Pastor Nikki Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Pataskala Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bella Care Hospice 110 Polaris Parkway, Suite 302, Westerville, OH 43082 or Alzheimer's Association 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215 in Betty's memory.
