Carl Thomas Bell Jr.

Carl Thomas Bell Jr., 55, of Etna, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born on November 15, 1967 in Mount Vernon, OH, a son to Carl Sr. and Janice (Phillips) Bell. In addition to his parents, Carl is also survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Kelly Bell; children, Justin Bell, Krista (Brian) Miller; step son, Brennan Scurlock; three grandchildren; siblings, Mark “Chris” Bell, Eric (Mandy) Bell, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. He also leaves behind his beloved pup, Dakota, whom he loved dearly.

Not everyone knew him as Carl. Most knew him as Tom or Tommy. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan and loved The Ohio State Buckeyes! He retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 27 yrs. of service, working in many capacities during his career from clerk and letter carrier in Westerville to Postmaster in Galloway and Johnstown. He met his wife Kelly during the short period of time when they both worked at the Westerville post office and they married in 2009. He was an amazing husband, father, step-father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many. He was a simple man with a huge heart that loved spending time with his family, especially his parents, who he adored. His presence is missed and he will always be loved.

Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. The family will be having a private gathering at a later date.
