Catholyn “Giz” Salisbury, 68, of Pataskala, lost her battle with heart disease on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the caring hospice unit at Mount Carmel East Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, Billie Walker of New Vienna and Charles Smith of Columbus and at a much too early age, sister, Marliyn Myers of Columbus. Giz is survived by her loving husband of almost 49 years, John “Freddie” Salisbury; brother, J.D. Walker of New Vienna; sons, Greg (Kathy) and Jim (Tina); very special nieces, Nicole France, Natalie Beard and nephew, Hunter Myers. She also leaves behind heartbroken grandchildren, Britney, J.T., Taylor, Jennifer, Jason Salisbury and Jeramiah and Layla Adkins. She was an avid reader and loved to quilt, providing many baby quilts to newborns until arthritis forced her to leave some quilts unfinished. Her family and friends were the most important thing in her life and she would spend hours with her grandkids putting together legos, playing with them and listening to their problems. The world is a better place because of her and she will be fondly remembered. Friends may call from 10 – 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Bishop Eric D. Holley officiating. Interment will be at Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Giz’s memory.
