

Charlyne (Charlie) Thornton, (Dorn) 90. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and friend passed away on January 22. She is survived by her loving, devoted Husband of 62 years, Robert B. Thornton, Pataskala, and Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Survived by Daughter Paula Hofmann, Granddaughter Jenifer Owens-Morrison, and son-in-law Mark Morrison, 1 great-grandchild, a grandchild in Colorado. Granddaughter Heather Hofmann, Grandson Luke Hofmann, Daughter-in-law Pam Hofmann, dear cousins Kathy Michels, Ken and Nancy Johnson, and their many beloved children, numerous other cousins, and many friends. She was loved by many, especially her devoted caregivers over the past ten years. ars. Preceded in death by son, Doug Hofmann and dear cousins, Doris (Robert) Johnson and Kay Johnson Susil. She graduated from Columbus, South High School class of 1950, where she was a member of their marching band. Her working career began at the Tuberculosis Hospital until they closed their doors. She then became a supervisor at the City of Columbus Vital Statistics Department and retired after many years. She worked at the Scioto Valley Presbytery of Ohio as a receptionist and administrative assistant after her retirement. Charlie attended and served as an elder, treasurer, organist, and pianist for the Jersey Presbyterian Church. Charlie established a 4-H scholarship at the Hartford Fair in the name of her dear cousin Doris Johnson. In addition to her beloved family and friends, she rescued and loved many dogs throughout her lifetime. She loved visiting Disneyworld, making many trips with her family. She was a lifelong Ohio State Buckeye Fan supporting them and her son in the OSU Marching Band (TBDBITL), attending the ‘72 Rose B Bowl Championship and many other games. GO BUCKS. She resided at the Inn at Summit Trail with her devoted Husband for the past 6 years. She made many friends with her devoted caregivers and was grateful for their care and attention. The family invites you to join them during calling hours on Sunday, January 28 from 2 pm to 4 pm at 289 S. Main St., Pataskala Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home. The celebration of life will occur at the Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St, Pataskala, Ohio, on Monday, January 29 at 1 pm. A private family interment will follow at Jersey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society in your area or the ASPCA in her memory.
