

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Emory Franklin (Frank) Shortridge, age 82 of rural Granville, will be held at the Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home in Pataskala, on Saturday, February 17th at 10:30 am with Rev. Paul Snoddy officiating. Burial will be in Kirkersville Cemetery.
Frank was born on May 10, 1941 to the late Emory Gordon and Eliza Jane (Patterson) Shortridge. Frank passed away in the Hospice of Central Ohio Inpatient Care Unit at Licking Memorial on February 13, 2024 after a short but hard fought battle with multiple myeloma.
He graduated from Watkins HS in 1959 and was married to Dottie Little for 53 years before her passing in 2014. Frank could usually be found either hunting, repairing radiators, or assisting his best friend, Tim Luft, at steam tractor shows. Frank enjoyed meals at The Meeting Place whenever he was spending time at the Eagle-Patterson family Homeplace in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.
Survivors include his sons, Tim (Lori) Shortridge, Dan Shortridge and Ed (Michelle) Shortridge; grandchildren, Katie (Joshua) Snyder, Kelsie (Kevin) Nickolas, Kayla Shortridge, Amber Shortridge, Ryan Shortridge, Sierra Shortridge, Cole Shortridge and Nathan Shortridge; his namesake and great-granddaughter, Emory Jane Nickolas, and one great-grandson, Kenneth Shortridge; sister, Rachel Schneider; sister-in-law, Bonnie Keith, and brother-in-law, Ken (Mara) Little, along with his cat, Buddy, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 16 from 4-6 pm and Saturday, Feb. 17 from 9:30-10:30 am. Friends may contribute to Hospice of Central Ohio: Inpatient Care Unit (Selma Markowitz Inpatient Care Center) at Licking Memorial in his memory.
