

John ("Jack") Edward Bowman died peacefully in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 25, 2015 at the age of 89. Jack is survived by his daughter, Susan Kay Lawrence; son-in-law, Keith E. Lawrence; grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth (Austin) Dankhoff, Jared Owen Clinger, Jennifer C. Lawrence; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Martha Jane and several siblings. Jack was born on December 23, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to Elizabeth Mary Oestreicher and Earl Arthur Bowman. He graduated from South High School and Franklin University. He proudly served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S Randolph during World War Two. Jack married Jane in 1948 and lived in Columbus for many years before moving to Pataskala in 1972. He worked for Lazarus and held many different roles before retiring in 1988. A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, January 2nd at the Pataskala Church of the Nazarene, 8100 Hazelton-Etna Road Southwest, Pataskala, OH 43062 at 10 a.m. Pastor Gary Reiss and Pastor Lonny Aleshire will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and honor Jack's life. Burial will be at the Green Lawn Cemetery at 1000 Greenlawn Ave, Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Jack Bowman Memorial Fund c/o the Pataskala Church of the Nazarene. After the burial there will at luncheon served at the Pataskala Church of the Nazarene.
