

After graduating from Shelby High School, Jon enlisted in the United States Army. Upon returning home, he moved to Columbus to seek employment. He worked as a director at the Defense Logistics Agency and retired after 43 years. Jon was honored with several awards for outstanding performance and dedication. He was an avid golfer. Jon enjoyed many rounds at High Lands Golf Club and Eagle Eye Golf Course and as with his career, he excelled to win several tournaments and trophies including the championship at Eagle Eye in 1979. Even with his illness, you would see him occasionally walking around, practicing his swing.
In 1983, Jon married Karen and they enjoyed 38 years of traveling to 97 countries, making friends all over the world. Jon was a wonderful father to his three children, Susan (Russ), Jennifer and Brian (Genie); grandchildren, Amanda (Brian), Adrianne (Joe), Jason, Alexis, Alex, Gabriel and Alaina; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Duane and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Karen Ellinger Davis; brother, Bert and cousin, Donna Love-Furr.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Kim Wadlington officiating. Interment will be at Pataskala Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr., #170, Columbus, OH 43231 in Jon’s honor.
