Richard "Andy" Birney

Richard “Andy” Birney, 35, of Pickerington, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 14, 2015 as a result of a tragic car accident. He was born on February 21, 1979 in Columbus, OH, a son to Richard and Bonnie (White) Birney. He was a graduate of Good Shepherd Christian Academy, Pataskala, and was a proud employee of The Ohio State University. Andy will be remembered as a loving son, brother, and a devoted father. When not working to help support his family, he enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with his fiancée and their children. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard. Andy is survived by his loving fiancée, Summer Fairman; children, Thomas, Abigail, Zachary, Natalie and Phillip; step-children, Cadence, Morgan and Emma; mother, Bonnie; sister, Caren (Eric) Conkey; brother, Eric (Jemimah) and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH, 43602. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am with an hour prior of visitation on Wednesday at Spring Hills Baptist Church, 1820 Newark-Granville Road, Granville, with Pastor Mike Kazee officiating. Interment will follow at Pataskala Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home for his children’s college fund.
