Ruby Jean Perry (Gillman), 84, of Pataskala, OH, passed away very peacefully on July 4, 2021 surrounded by loved ones in her home. Ruby was born in Crum, West Virginia on June 17, 1937 to Grover Cleveland Gillman and Bitha Gillman (Horn). She was the oldest daughter of 12 children.
Ruby was a loving wife and one sweet momma and mamaw! She was a living example of God’s love and won the hearts of those who knew her. Her greatest love was for God and family. She was a gentle soul, a graceful lady with just the right amount of spunk. She was content with a simple life. Her passion was cleaning and keeping things neat and tidy. She also loved yard work and took great pleasure in tending to her yard and flowers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Rufus Perry; two daughters, Darlene (Mark) Mortine of Pataskala, Ohio and Arlene (Donald) Orr of Newark, Ohio; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Amanda (Tim) Smith, Alyssa Walker, Alex Orr, Russell (Mindy) Orr; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Grayson Smith, Hayden Crim, and Remi Orr; three sisters, Maxine, Ora and Audra; two brothers, Grover Jr. (June) and Hubert as well as many nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends.
In addition to her parents Ruby is preceded in death by four sisters, Irene, Bernadine, Nora and Polly and two brothers, Paul and Gobe.
Ruby was also known as mom, mommy, momma, love, mamaw, Sissy, Annie, Sister Perry and Jean. We have been so very blessed to have had her as part of our lives-may we be found as faithful. Ruby is a member of the Church of God. Our loss is heaven’s gain.
Her viewing will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062 where a funeral service honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2021. The service will be officiated by her Pastor Brother Roger Decker. Interment will follow at Pataskala Cemetery (Township Rd.).
