

Delbert “Bud” Frates of Fruitland, Idaho, passed away July 21, 2017 of natural causes in Ontario, Oregon. A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Leonard and Sherrie Phillips at 2845 Highway 52, Payette, Idaho, on August 5 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Bud was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 3, 1931 to Albert and Marion Frates. Later his family moved to Payette, Idaho. Bud married Patricia Baines on July 22, 1950 in Payette and to their union three daughters were born. Bud worked primarily in construction, building houses, excavation work and then retired in 1993. After retirement Bud and Patti traveled, did a lot of camping, rode with a motor cycle club and spent many winters in Arizona.
He is survived by his three daughters Karen Sells (David) of Nampa, Diane Carlman of Nampa and Debra Pettis of Fruitland. Five grandchildren, Brandi Shoemaker (Phil), Dan Sells (Kristie), Cody Carlman, Jordan Carlman and Nicholas Kubal, three great grandchildren, Olivia Sells, Hillary Sells and Noah Shoemaker, five sisters, Delores Olson, Joanne Wolf, Carmen Fosberg, Sherrie Phillips (Leonard), Susan Davis ( Jack) and three brothers, Albert Frates (Joyce), Brent Frates ( Beverly) and Mike Frates (Terry).
Bud was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Frates, his parents, Albert and Marion Frates, a brother Raymond Frates, a sister Carolyn Neil and a Great Grandson Keegan Shoemaker.
