Kellie loved playing in the Idaho Special Olympics. Over the years she collected numerous trophies and ribbons. In 1975, the Special Olympics of Payette had a basketball team and they were short one player. They asked Kellie to play even though she was small for her age, she said OK. At a game the team needed one basket to win and in the last seconds Kellie scored the winning basket and the crowd cheered. From there the team went and played in Salt Lake and after their win, they were headed to Washington DC. There they took 3rd place in the nation.
