Lois Uphoff

She was made a child of God in Holy Baptism on January 24, 1932 at Zion Lutheran Church in Corvallis, OR. Lois was the fourth of five children in the family.

The family lived on a farm near Philomath, OR. When the children started school, they all attended Zion Lutheran School in Corvallis.

For a short time the family moved to Ontario, OR. During that time, Lois confirmed her faith in the Lord at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Ontario, on May 20, 1945. Shortly after this, the family returned to the Corvallis area, to help the grandparents. Later they were able to return to their farm near Philomath. After returning to the Philomath/Corvallis area, Lois completed her elementary and high school education. In 1950 the family moved to a farm south of Fruitland, Idaho. Lois attended Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, IL, earning her teaching certificate June 7, 1954. Throughout her teaching career, she taught in many places.

On July 1, 1956, Lois and Lewellyn Uphoff were married at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in New Plymouth, ID. Nine children were born to their marriage.

Lois left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 11, 2018. She had been at home in the care of her loving children. She will be missed very much. She raised her children to be faithful God-fearing Christians.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, her sister Irene, her brother Bob and by one daughter, Mary. She is survived by her children, Ken (Christine), Cheryl (Rob), Mike (Shiela), Ralph, Faith (Ron), Hope (Martin), Angie, Doug (Kim), and grandchildren Ari Pape Uphoff, Nathan Aiken, Andrew Uphoff, Samantha Gillespie, Austin Uphoff, Sacha Wiken, Krystle Stoltenberg, Jeremy Stoltenberg, Megan Teach, Patrick Teach, Adam Teach, Matthew Teach, Greg Farrell, Thomas Farrell, Briana Beavers, and Orian Uphoff. Lois had five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Ron and his wife Jeanne and David and his wife LaDonna, and her sister-in-law Amy.

At Lois’ request, no service was held.
