Alyssa Ann Luke, lovingly known as "Aly" to her friends and "Auntie Lu" to her cherished nieces, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at the age of 49. Born on August 3, 1975, in Norwood, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of Robert Milton Luke, Jr. and the late Mary Isabel Luke. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Aly spent her life radiating warmth, wisdom, and an unwavering love for her family. She was the beloved wife of John Joseph Coiro and the devoted mother of Ariel Sage, Brennan Joseph, and Dante Lucian, who were the greatest joys of her life. She took immense pride in their achievements, nurturing their growth with encouragement, strength, and boundless affection.
Aly was a proud graduate of Franklin High School (Class of 1993), where her academic brilliance shone. She continued her studies at UMass – Dartmouth and Westfield State College, graduating magna cum laude in 1996, before earning her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Boston University in 1998. Recognized for her dedication and excellence, Aly was featured in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges (1995-96) and was an esteemed member of the Alpha Chi, Psi Chi, and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
A compassionate and dedicated guidance counselor, Aly devoted her career to helping others navigate life’s challenges. Her ability to listen, empathize, and uplift those around her made her a guiding light in both her professional and personal life.
Aly had a deep love for literature and could often be found sharing her favorite passages or thought-provoking articles with her family. An adventurous spirit, she embraced travel with enthusiasm, exploring the world with curiosity and joy. Among her most cherished journeys was her trip to Japan in 1999, where she met her husband, John. Her adventurous spirit was on full display when she hiked Mt. Fuji, triumphantly reaching the summit ahead of a team of visiting Marines. She also found solace and renewal by the ocean, whether basking in the sun on the shores of Bali, Jamaica, or Florida. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she felt the most at peace.
