Bernice Jackson was born in Daviston, AL on October 25,1939 to the late Mary and William James. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 85, on April 23, 2025. Bernice grew up in rural Alabama and never forgot her roots. She married Bobby in 1961. In 1969, Bobby and Bernice moved to Peachtree City, GA where she lived the remainder of her life.
She was a Charter Member of The Peachtree City Baptist Church. She retired from TDK and enjoyed her retirement with her many relatives, children, and grandchildren. Bernice remained active with her friends and family throughout the years. Some of her hobbies were sewing, reading, shopping, and attending Sacred Harp Singing in Alabama. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities and was deeply cherished by them. Bernice was selfless and never thought about herself before others.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bobby Jackson; her parents; her son, Jason Jackson.
She is survived by her son, Michael Jackson and his wife, Carissa of Dacula, GA, daughter-in-law, Heather Jackson of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Anna, Molly & Luke Jackson of Dacula, GA and Mickey, Casey, and Jake-Presley Jackson of Peachtree City, GA; she also leaves behind a sister, Louise Williams of Augusta, GA .
A visitation for Bernice will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 Senoia Rd, Peachtree City, Georgia 30269, followed by a celebration of life funeral service at 2:00 PM. The burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, GA.
