Billie Ruth (Neal) Goode

Mrs. Billie Ruth Neal Goode, formerly of Atlanta, GA passed away on May 29, 2017 in Fayetteville, GA. She was born in Falls County, TX on March 21, 1928 to the late James M. Neal and Nora Manning Neal. She retired from J.C. Penney’s with 28 years of service. She was active at Jefferson Ave. Baptist Church and later at First Baptist Church of Douglasville where she enjoyed working in the nursey. She taught Sunday School for many years at the Atlanta YDC. She also was active in Utoy Springs Baptist Church, Jefferson Baptist Church, and later Baptist Church of Douglasville, GA. Billie loved all animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Goode; her parents; and 8 siblings, Evelyn Martin, Russell Neal, Wilma Odenbach, Perry Neal, Mary Ruth Scott, Kenneth Neal, Gale Neal, and Inez Suddeth, all from Texas.

Billie is survived by her daughter, Donna G. Ramey and her husband, Randall, of Peachtree City; son, Larry Goode and his wife, Rebecca, of Woodstock; granddaughters, Kathryn Sullivan and her husband, Steve, of Naperville, IL; Kara Scott of Milton, GA; great-grandchildren, Greyson and Griffin Sullivan; and Cullen Lucas and Caroline Scott; sister, Anita Jones of Waco, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA with Chaplain Frank Powers officiating. Interment to follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.
