Bobby was a nine-year resident of Somerby Peachtree City and attended First Baptist Church of Senoia until his health no longer allowed. Before that he was a long-time resident of Warner Robins and Centerville and member of Central Baptist Church. He was a member of the choir for many years, served in a number of volunteer posts in the church, and faithfully attended the Senior Adult Sunday School class with many of his dear friends.
Bobby was born on August 18th, 1936 to Clyde and Edith Graham in Albion, Illinois. He grew up as part of a large and close family on a farm near Grayville, Illinois. The Grahams were poor, but God met all of their needs and all five of his siblings grew up to great success. While he learned to farm from his uncle Shelly, he chose to go to college and enter the Air Force. He graduated with a degree in engineering from the University of Evansville, and was commissioned in the US Air Force. He was a tanker pilot with over 3,000 hours of flying time, and he served with distinction in Vietnam. He served for over 27 years as an Air Force Command pilot, and a Squadron, Group, and Base Commander; ultimately rising to the rank of Colonel.
He was married for 66 years to the love of his life, Shirley Moody Graham-being married on June 27, 1959. They had two boys, Jeff and Barry, and adopted a third son, Kenny, on their 18th wedding anniversary. After retirement from the Air Force, Bobby taught future Air Force leaders at the Robins AFB branch of Georgia College for 14 years, finally retiring to his little farm in Bonaire Georgia in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening, and playing 42, a dominoes game and Graham family tradition. In retired life, he gave back to his community, serving in leadership positions with Special Olympics, Red Cross, and the Salvation Army.
Bobby leaves behind many relatives and friends. He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Graham; sons, Jeff (Kim) Graham and Barry (Alicia) Graham; and brother, Larry (Jean) Graham. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Bradley Graham, Robert (Brittany) Graham, Elizabeth (Alex) Everett and Melissa (Sean) Nasiff; and five great-grandchildren, Violet, Lily, and Danny Graham, and Andrew and Milo Everett.
He was proceeded in death by his son, Kenneth Graham; his sister, Ava (Max) Walker; his brothers, Don, Densil, nd Dellas Graham; and by his parents, Clyde and Edith Graham.
He is also survived by a large extended Graham family. Although some have passed on—nephew, Jerry (Christine) Walker; and nieces, Brenda Graham and Sherri (Eddie) Cupples—many others are still living. Including all of his sisters-in-law, Ann Graham (Don), Gail Graham (Densil), and June Graham (Dellas). He is also survived by a number of Graham nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Bobby lived a long and fruitful life, and leaves an enduring legacy with the family and friends he created. He is now receiving his reward in the arms of our Savior Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held at Somerby of Peachtree City, Peachtree City, GA on August 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
