David Charles Ewen, age 65, of Tyrone, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 after a battle with cancer. David was born May 18, 1957 in Pittsburgh, PA to Robert Bruce Ewen and Mary Catherine Brunner Ewen.
David was a member of the Local 3, Iron Workers of Pittsburgh for 15 years. He moved to Georgia with his wife and daughter in 1991. He worked at Delta Airlines for 20 years as an aircraft mechanic. He retired from Delta in 2011 and enjoyed watching his son pursue their shared passion in aviation as well as planning RV trips with his wife to visit National Parks all over the country.
In his younger years, he enjoyed a variety of adventures-flying his own plane to various vacation destinations, traveling the world, researching his Scottish heritage, and cooking/smoking the best briskets!
David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sheryl Ewen; and their two children, Audrey Ewen and Elliott Ewen.
A visitation will be held in the Rose Room at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory, Peachtree City, GA on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. With the funeral service in the chapel at 6:00pm.
Light appetizers will be served during the visitation.
