Eugene (Gene) Hobgood, of Newnan, GA, died September 17, 2016 at the age of 82. He established Metro Color Lab in East Point, GA in 1974 and retired in 1990. Mr. Hobgood attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in East Point, GA. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan. He served his country in the Naval Reserves. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, JoAnn Hobgood; son, Ronnie Hobgood; daughter, Renee Lavender and her husband, John; grandsons, Drew Hobgood and his wife, Kim; and Brian McGuire; 1 great grandson, Andrew Hobgood; brother, Alvin Hobgood and his wife, Mickie; sister, Louise Cash. A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20 in the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home with Rev. Alvin Hobgood officiating. Interment, Westsminster Memorial Gardens.
