Iris Mercedes Rodriguez

She was raised in Brooklyn, NY, graduated from Canarsie High School, and holds a degree from Mobilization for Youth. Her first job was at Citibank.

Iris fell in love with Orlando Rodriguez in June of 1965 and married him on March 20th, 1971. They had 4 children - 3 girls and 1 boy.  

Iris is survived by her loving husband, Orlando Rodriguez; her children, Rachel Littlejohn, Elizabeth Pitts, Orlando Rodriguez Jr., and Minerva Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Charles L. Hamilton II, Orlando C. Hamilton, Dennis J. Littlejohn III, Juan Z. Littlejohn, William O. Martinez, Alexandra M. Martinez, Nathaniel I. Pitts, Quincy S. Pitts, Aiden S. Rodriguez, Brooke L. Rodriguez, Sebastian S. Rodriguez, Sean G. Coleman, Jr., Ameer-Sharief A. Hudson, Nasir T. Hudson; precious great-grandchildren, Carter Hamilton, Cato A. Hamilton, Charles L. Hamilton III, Laila M. Littlejohn; her brothers, Juan Torres and Juan F. Torres; her sisters, Samadi Morales and Elizaida Pellot; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many family and friends who love her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 at 11:00am, at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA, with Dr. Josh Saefkow officiating. The visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am. The burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, 70 Jefferson Street, Newnan, GA 30263 at 2:00pm.
