Jack grew up around Atlanta, GA before being drafted into the Army where he served 3 years during Vietnam. After being stationed in Germany with his young bride Rena, they returned to the States where he completed his Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering at GA Tech. Jack started his own business, Automation & Robotics, where he designed and built industrial robots for decades.
An avid fisherman and hunter Jack loved everything outdoors. He spent many days on Lake Lanier or West Point with his family on one of their boats. He loved to travel to Alaska on halibut fishing excursions or to the Apalachicola Bay in search for sea trout and scallops. Jack was the happiest when he was on the water … especially with a good cigar in hand.
Known for his practical jokes Jack was often seen sneaking around a corner, loading a spitball into a straw, initiating a family food fight, or chuckling to himself as he planned his next surprise. A lover of good jokes and books alike, Jack found great pleasure in wit and wisdom.
Jack is survived by his wife of 54 years Rena (Ham) Brown of Newnan; his son, Chris Brown and spouse Amy of Knoxville, TN; and his daughter, Rachel Rogers-Mans of Sharpsburg, GA. “Bear” will lovingly be remembered by his grandchildren Eli, Rosie, Sarabelle, Jude and Betts.
