James Richard Leue, age 90, of Peachtree City, GA passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. He was born on July 16, 1921 in Cincinnati, OH. James was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at the age of six years old. Through discipline and determination, he lived with the disease for 84 years. Remarkably, he was one of a handful of people in the world who had lived with this challenging disease for such a long period of time. James or Jim as he was known to friends and family owned the Paxton Woods Glass Company in Cincinnati where he applied his skills as a chemist and glassware manufacturer. Many of his chemical glassware inventions are still in use today. He is survived by his wife, of 40 years, Virginia Leue; son, David Mathis; daughters, Penelope Hahn, Debra Leue, and Angela Grossi; grandchildren, Michael Hahn, David Hahn, Nicholas Mathis, Nathan Mathis, Lena Grossi, and Owen Grossi. A visitation will be held at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 2:00pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
