

Jonathan “Jon” Jay Polk, 42, of Riverdale, GA unexpectedly passed away the morning of December 20, 2022. A native of the Atlanta area, he was born on May 9, 1980 the son of the Janice Polk and the late Charlie Jay Polk.
He attended Woodward Academy and Jonesboro High School where as a gifted athlete, he excelled in wrestling and baseball. A talented woodworking craftsman for the movie industry, “Jon” loved his work creating props and sets for both movies and television shows. He loved spending time with his children, play his guitar, singing, crafting art and furniture out of wood, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a golfer, love the beach and mountains, and exploring ancient ruins and art in Europe.
Jay was always quick to help anyone in need. His kind spirit often led him to go out of his way to do so. He will forever remain present in the hearts and minds of all who love him.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Jay Polk.
He leaves behind his loving daughter, Haley Polk of Texas; his beloved son, Kaiden of Fayetteville, GA; his devoted mother, Janice Polk of Riverdale, GA; his brothers Stephen Polk and Michael Polk; numerous aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins; and many friends.
A visitation will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will follow at 2:00pm.
