

Mrs. Sareth Sun was born on February 1, 1946 to Mr. Pen Moa and Mrs. Koeung Oeur in district 5, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She was a remarkably strong-willed woman and fought relentlessly despite the health challenges that she faced. She passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021.
She received her formal education in Tuol Svay Prey, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Before moving to the United States, Mrs. Sareth Sun was a stay-at-home wife who was revered as the most reliable caretaker in her family, taking on the responsibility of caring for her 8 children, siblings, and cousins.
A few years after arriving to the United States on July 27, 1981, Sareth held a 28-year career as a food service dietician at Crestview Nursing Home affiliated with the Grady memorial Hospital. She retired at age 62.
Sareth loved to sew, go grocery shopping, cook for her family, and share food with friends. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching video of Cambodian, Vietnamese, Thai cooking and keeping up with the latest news from her favorite tablet. She was a devoted member of the Trairatanaram Temple, the Cambodian Buddhist Society, and Wat Dhamma.
Sareth is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Vantha Hong; her children, Vuthira Hong, Chanbora Hong, Vuthanarith Hong, Mardi Hong; and her siblings, Seng Sean and Pen Tho.
Sareth is survived by her four loving children, Vuthavy Hong, Vuthanary Dam, Vuthanaro Davis and Sereika Chiem. She was an amazing grandma to seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters who will forever cherish her memories. She also left a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
Mom, we love you and will miss you so much. We take comfort in knowing that there is another angel above us. The memories that you left behind will forever be cherished.
A visitation will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory in Peachtree City, GA. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home in the chapel on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 3:00pm.
