Susie Kathleen Hazelrigs

Mrs. Susie Kathleen Edge Hazelrigs, 79, of Newnan, GA passed away on March 24, 2025 after a lengthy battle with her health. She was born in Dry Branch, GA on September 9, 1945 to Jossie Leona and Joseph Edge.

Kathleen was a great woman and a hard worker. She worked as a school janitor for the Coweta County School System. She was a great cook and worked at Granny’s Kitchen in Union City for many years. She loved to be outside in nature, whether it was fishing and camping with her boys when they were young or outside gardening and planting flowers as she grew older. She had a small farm with eight dogs, eight cats, five goats, and three peacocks. She was very active until her health wouldn’t let her be anymore. She loved wearing her gold rings everywhere and had quite the collection of rings. However, she loved her family most of all.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, John Kennith Hazelrigs; her parents, Joseph and Jossie; her son, Randall; and daughter, Debbie.

She is survived by her sons, Michael and Donnie; six grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, Ryan, Austin, Anthony, and Starr; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy, Joyce, and Margie; numerous nieces and nephews; and a whole lot of friends left behind to cherish her memory.

A visitation will be held in the Rose Room on Friday evening, April 11, 2025 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA.
