Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Terry was a gifted salesman, retail strategist, writer, and natural athlete. He proudly served in the Navy on the Lexington Aircraft Carrier and was the ship’s resident journalist. In his youth, he channeled his energy and competitive spirit onto the basketball court, proudly playing college basketball for Valley Junior College in Southern California. In his later years, he enjoyed playing golf and following sports on TV.
Terry built a distinguished and impactful career as a retail broker. He started his own brokerage firm in Seattle in the mid-70’s and later worked exclusively as a broker for Costco where he was instrumental in enabling its growth and expansion. Later in his career, he worked with Trident Seafoods, where he was responsible for selling packaged fish products to Costco stores globally.
Beyond his professional success, Terry was a man of deep passion and authenticity. He wore his emotions on his sleeve, and you always knew exactly where you stood with him. He possessed a wicked sense of humor that could light up a room. He loved nothing more than his vacations, especially to the beaches of Hawaii or to the mountains of Whistler B.C. Above all, Terry deeply loved his friends, his family, and his beloved dog, Bernie.
Terry is survived by his loving partner of 18 years, Marcia Edgar; his devoted children, Adam Pressman and Michael Pressman; his daughter-in-law, Melissa Pressman; and his cherished grandchildren, Davi and Braden Pressman.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 2:00pm, at North Atlanta Memorial Park-Dunwoody Jewish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Terry’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, or to the Organization for Autism Research, both causes were meaningful to him.
