She graduated from Byram High School in 1953 and soon after married the love of her life, Hubert Germany. Hubert and Barbara were married 69 years.
Barbara was a strong Christian woman and shared her love of the Lord with all of those around her. She had a passion for family, cooking, singing, and gardening. She never met a stranger and could always make a friend with anyone she met.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marie Dear, and her oldest granddaughter, Amber Cumberland.
She is survived by her husband, Hubert; sons, Buddy (Carol), Butch (Marsha), and Boyd (Emily); daughter, Carla; grandchildren, Chris Germany (Nicki), Eva Marie Coker (Andrew), Brodie Germany, Nobile Germany, Hayes Germany, Aaron Fortenberry (Madison), Aubrey Fortenberry, Avery Fortenberry, and Adeline Fortenberry; great-grandchildren, Cara Sims (Christopher), Baleigh Germany, Tyler Germany (Kathryn), Caden Coats, Carlee Cumberland, Carter Cumberland, Valerie Germany, Kayleigh Germany, Bryce Fortenberry, Barrett Fortenberry; great-grandchildren, Addison Germany, Bristol Sims, Claudia Sims, Delta Sims, and Hudson Germany; sisters, Jackie Berry, and Deborah Green; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 3:00pm, Thursday, January 12, 2023, at First Baptist Church Byram. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm with interment in the church cemetery.
As a woman of faith, Barbara wanted a celebration of her life with Christ.
