She was born November 29, 1919, in Sidon, MS, a daughter of the late Charles E. Gray and Elna Frances Bowman Gray. Belva was a longtime member of Flowood Baptist Church, and in more recent years, Holly Grove Baptist Church in Braxton. She retired from Holiday Inn of Jackson where she served as a supervisor for the housekeeping and linens department. Her hobbies included ceramics, macramé, cooking, and fishing. Belva loved nature and the time she spent on her farm, raising veggies, flowers, and her cows.
Survivors include granddaughter, Brenda Macko (Mike); grandson, Brian Harrell (Kim); brother, Richard “Sonny” Gray; 5 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Tommie Lee Lishman; daughter, Belva Lee Harrell; sisters, Bobbie Garner, Inez Till, Juanita Stingley; and brothers, Lamar, Vernon, and Norris Gray.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm, Monday, February 21, 2022, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in Lakewood South Cemetery.
