She was born on April 29, 1926 to the late Joseph McNeil and Mary Ivy McNeil in Taylorville, Mississippi. Bessie was a member of Central Baptist Church in Byram. She worked for several years as a seamstress in a shirt factory. Bessie was truly talented and in her free time, could be found working on various sewing projects as a hobby. Her creative spirit also nurtured her love of watching Bob Ross tutorials and watching cooking shows. In addition, Bessie enjoyed gardening, sprouting many kinds of plants from flowers to cacti. Above all, she loved her family and in her recent years thoroughly enjoyed doting on her grandkids.
In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her sons, Randolph Williams and James Alton Williams.
She is survived by her children, Debbie Purvis, Janie Barton, Rex Allen, Eddie Williams, Cathy Quick, Mark O'Neal, and Jeffrey Wade; 15 grandchildren; and several beloved great-grandchildren and siblings.
Bessie will be so dearly missed.
