Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in the funeral home chapel with interment in the Richland City Cemetery.
Clifton was born February 7, 1935, in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi, a son of the late Early Jackson and Anna Mae Smallwood.
A proud veteran Clifton served our country with the U. S. Army. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Richland and enjoyed a lengthy career with the U. S. Postal Service.
Clifton’s hobbies included bass fishing, hunting, woodworking and his flower and veggie gardens. An animal lover, Clifton was particularly fond of dogs. His favorite times were spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, and beloved wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Ann Hood Smallwood, who went home to Heaven in 2019.
Survivors include sons, Ronnie Smallwood, and Mike Smallwood; daughter, Terrie McLendon and husband Daniel; grandchildren, Clint Smallwood, Reid Brown, Kenneth Brown, and Crystal Ladnier; great-grandchildren, Kaley Smallwood, Gaige Brown, Kelsey Brown, Kennedy Brown, Anna Rachel Ladnier, Landon Ladnier, Mason Brown, Jewel Brown, Karman Brown, Drake Brown, Callen Smallwood, and Sammy Smallwood; and great-great-grandchildren, Jackson Reid Brown, Rylan Brown, and Grayson Brown.
