She was born November 4, 1945, in West Point, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Murry Blankenship and Mary Landin Blankenship.
With a true heart for service to others, Mrs. Long devoted her life to others. For many years she guided and encouraged students as a teacher for the Pearl Public Schools. She was a loving advocate for her husband throughout his years of ministry, supporting the church family in every way she could. And she was a sterling example of a Christian wife, mother, and grandmother as she cared for her family.
She was preceded in death in 2013 by her husband of 45 years, Rev. Wayne Long. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Murry Blankenship.
Mrs. Long is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Chris Brogdon; her sister, Peggy Spell; her grandchildren, Ryan Landin Brogdon and Kelly Stanley; her nieces and nephews; and her "fur babies", Ace, Linus, Charlie, and Hattie.
Mrs. Long will be laid to rest privately beside her husband at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Due to the Centers for Disease Control's current mandated restrictions regarding attendance at gatherings, Memorial Services for Mrs. Long will be held at a later date. Details will be posted as soon as available.
