Elbert Spencer Davis

Visitation is 5:00-8:00pm today at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Cleary Baptist Church, Florence, with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

Mr. Davis was born April 25, 1925 in Cleveland, MS, a son of the late Aaron Spencer Davis and Alma Watts Davis. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he retired following a lengthy career that spanned many occupations. He loved his church, Cleary Baptist in Florence, where he had been an active member since 1978.

Survivors include son, Allen Davis; daughters, Debbie Roan, Brenda Bullock and Denise Cole; sister, Mable Singleton; grandchildren, Joshua Davis, Britton Davis, Melissa Roan, Emily Saenz, Thomas Bullock, III, Sarah Lester and Kayla Grubbs; and great-grandchildren, Holly Noel Davis, Macie Davis, John Prado, Hunter Saenz, Noah Adair Lester and Caroline Grubbs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joyce Davis.

Memorials may be made to Cleary Baptist Church.
