Gentry was born on October 28, 2002, in Flowood, Mississippi to Mr. Michael Scott Davis and Mrs. Cindy Lynn Gentry Davis.
Gentry did not know the meaning of the word 'stop'. He was competitive in and out of the classroom and on the field participating in football and track. He was a star football player at Richland High School playing offense and defense, but mainly has a linebacker. In 2021, he was named the 'Most Valuable Player' in football for the Rankin County School District. After graduating high school with honors, he continued his studies and played football on scholarship at East Mississippi Community College where he helped lead them to a State Championship and graduated with honors. He was currently studying at Mississippi College.
When Gentry was not excelling in school and sports, you could find him in the gym working out or catching up on the latest fitness news. Gentry’s passion was to become a first responder, mainly a police officer. He also wanted to help people in need and that showed in his servant’s heart.
Even though Gentry enjoyed these things mentioned above, the thing he enjoyed most was being around his family. Hunting and fishing were things he enjoyed doing with his dad and other family members. He was recently given the title of “Uncle G” to Charliee Lynn “Peanut” Anderson, who had him wrapped around her sweet little finger.
Gentry is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wayne Gentry; paternal grandparents, Mr. Winfred “Art” Alton Davis and Mrs. Betty Ruth Davis; and his special canine companion Dallas.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents; sister, Chancee Anderson and spouse, Taylor; grandmother, Jerrie Gentry; aunts, uncles, cousins, Tim and Shelby Davis and family, Mitzi and Roger Durham and family, Shelia and Rick Buie and family, Jennifer and Ronnie Bagwell and family, and Karen Smith; also, canine companion, Sam.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi. A Celebration of Life Service honoring the life of Mr. Gentry will follow at 7:00pm at the funeral home.
