George E. Coley Sr.

George was born on December 30, 1942, in Lorman, Mississippi to Mr. Rolan Gordon Coley and Mrs. Margaret Faye Harrell Coley.

After graduating high school in 1960 from Natchez High School in Natchez, Mississippi, he went on to Hinds Junior College and then to Mississippi State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in 1967 for Petroleum Engineering. After a long career in the oil industry, he started a career as a consultant with his own business until his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gail Coley; son, George Ellis Coley, Jr.; and loyal pup, Suzie Q.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Shiela Coley; her daughters, Ashley Roper and Lindsey Jackson (Josh); daughter in law April Coley; grandchildren, Victoria Coley, Brently Coley (Elizabeth), Sadie Hayden, Peyton McAdory, Maybre McAdory, and Presley Jackson; great grandchildren, Gabriel Ellis Haraughty and William Myles Haraughty; sister, Margaret Ann Mehrhoff; sister in law, Gloria Dedmon; beloved friend, David Wade; feline friend Mosby; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi. A Celebration of Life Service will follow.
