He was born on September 2, 1929 to the late Guy Henry Burnham, Sr. and Berta Hales Burnham in Puckett, Mississippi. He was known to many as "Uncle Guy", even by non-family members. He worked for the Mississippi Forestry Commission for several years as a ranger. After retirement, he tended to his dear wife, Marilyn. Mr. Burnham was a lifelong member of Union Baptist Church and the Mayton community. He was a devoted Christian and would often say, "You can't outgive the Lord." He served for several years as the president of the Union Water Association. In addition, he was member of Masonic Lodge #621 of Puckett for 61 years. He was the type who seldom remained idle, always finding something to keep himself busy. He had his own farm where he raised cattle and grew crops. Mr. Burnham saw value in honest work and simplicity.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilyn Burnham; brothers, John Hubert Burnham, William "Buster" Burnham, and Rev. Charles Ray Burnham; sisters, Cora Margaret Bell and Shirley Brady; and great-grandson, Bubba Wayne Summers.
He is survived by his children, Robert Ponder (Jo) and Dawne Williams (Ray) both of Puckett; grandchildren, Christina Harvey of Puckett, Jesseca Harvey of Los Angeles, CA, Daniel Summers (Aston) of Flora, MS, Joe Williams (Steve) of Austin, TX, and Kim White (Wayne) of Carson, MS; great-grandchildren, Nick and Sophia Charczenko of Puckett, Alex Harvey of Los Angeles, CA, Waylon Summers of Flora, MS, and Matt and Madison Rankin of Carson, MS; great-great-grandchild, Cooper Rankin of Carson; brother, Monroe Burnham; sister-in-laws, Shirley Burnham, wife of the late Rev. Charles Ray Burnham and Dot Burnham, wife of the late John Hubert Burnham; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Donations may be mailed to the Church at 2259 Johns-Mayton Rd, Brandon, MS 39042 with specification that you wish for your contribution to assist the cemetery in memory of Uncle Guy.
