Herman “Ray” Nelson, 81, passed away February 8, 2013 at his home. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 11am – 1pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 1pm in the funeral home chapel with interment at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Mr. Nelson served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He was an Electronics Instructor at Hinds Community College for 32 years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nell Carter Nelson; son, Kenneth Ray Nelson; daughter, Barbara Young (Joe); brother, Jewell D. Nelson; grandchildren, Nicholas Shea, Christopher Ryan, and Dalton Jay Nelson.
