Afterwards graveside service will take place, weather permitting.
Inez was born in Logtown, MS on February 8, 1922, the eldest daughter of Frank Boykin Pittman and Sallie Cirlot Pittman. She was christened at Mosspoint Methodist Church and later joined the Methodist Church in Picayune, MS. In 1940, the family moved to Jackson and all became members of Galloway Memorial Methodist Church.
Participation in community activities was always of great interest to Inez. She enjoyed serving the church in the local, District, and Conference levels as a volunteer all of her life. She moved to the Florence area in 1964 and became a very active member of the Marvin United Methodist Church, the Flourentine Club, and other civic organizations. She was honored by her church and the city of Florence with a number of activities to celebrate her 100th birthday this past February.
In 1948, Inez married Ward Albert Hutchison and they were the parents of two sons, Jay Pittman and Charles Albert. After Mr. Hutchison’s death, Inez married Walter Peck Laird who also preceded her in death.
Inez is survived by her two sons and their wives; Jay and Charlotte of Monterey, and Charles and Lisa of Little Rock, AR. She is also survived by sisters Sue May and Frances Delmas of Monterey; Nephews Hubert Frank Bailey and wife Lisa; and Randy Delmas; Neices Nancy D. May and Susan Delmas; and the three children of Mr. Laird.
The Family would like to thank the minister and staff of Marvin UMC, Nan Hipp, and Mary Berry for their loving care of Inez during her last days.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Marvin UMC, 211 Church St., Florence, MS, 39073, or to a charity of your choice.
