Marvin was born March 6, 1936, in Ethel, Mississippi, one of fourteen children born to the late John Reel and Betty Sanders Reel.
From an early age Marvin learned the dignity of a hard day’s work and the satisfaction of a job well done. As a skilled auto mechanic he prided himself on providing the best repair work to his customers and his business was successful because of it.
His family was at the center of everything Marvin did and he passed his incredible work ethic on to his children.
Marvin helped a lot of people throughout his lifetime, and his heart and consideration for others endeared him to many.
In his spare time he collected and repaired antiques and old cars, but his favorite times were spent with his family. Whether laughing with the grandkids or sitting back enjoying a beer with his boys, Marvin was happy to simply be with them.
In all Marvin will best be remembered for his dedication to others and his industrious spirit. And we must not forget his prescription for a long life- that daily shot of Wild Turkey with Honey!
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Reel Brock; sons, Jack M. “Bubba” Reel, Jr. (Sherry), Jimmy Wayne Reel (Jackie), and Marvin Lee Reel (Mary); sisters, Kathy May, Bobbie Wolfe, Shirley Grantham, and Betty Joyce Reel; brothers, Joe and Phillip Reel; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-children.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Graveside services will follow at 1:30pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
