Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm, Monday, December 19, 2016, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 20, 2016, in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Flora Hills Memory Gardens.
Mr. Johns was a long time member of Eastside Baptist Church in Pearl, and he retired from South Central Bell after a lengthy career as an installer and repairman. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as an MP at Ft Hood from 1955 to 1957. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bobbie Turner Johns; son, Gregg Johns and wife, Dr. Martha Murray Johns; grandson, Blake Johns; brothers, Bob Johns and wife Carolyn, Don Johns and wife Hassel, and Andy Johns and wife Janie; and sister, Ione O’Neal and husband Glenn.
