

Visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2016 from 1pm – 2pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be held at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Richland Cemetery.
Born on July 1, 1956, with his sister, Neala, in Parkersburg, WV, to Edgar and Ruth Kent, he attended The Salvation Army in Parkersburg, where he taught Sunday School, led Junior Soldiers, Boys Club, and other activities. He also led meetings, sold War Crys, and worked at divisional camps - where he felt called of God to full time service.
In the Fall of L976 he entered Training as part of the "Disciples of Jesus" session, for which he wrote the lyrics to the session song, and was given the Brengle Award for the best holiness sermon. Commissioned in 1978 to Frederick, MD, and then to Weirton, WV.
He and Annette Cranford were married in Vicksburg, MS, in 1979. They served together in appointments throughout the Territory for 25 plus years before taking early retirement in 2003 due to health issues. Jeff did studies at Fuller Theologial Seminary in Church Growth and attended the Brengle Institute in
Chicago.
Major Annette Kent survives her husband, with his twin sister, Major Neala Owens, his sister Cynthia Ferrell, brothers Bob and Gary Kent, and several nephews and nieces, including Major Angela Repass.
