Jim was born in Neshoba County, MS to Bill and Mary Withers on October 2, 1938. He attended Barnes High School. He married Ann Poole on August 10, 1957, in Barnes, MS. He worked most of his career for Trustmark Bank. He was an amazing father, devoted husband, and a fervent supporter of the Pearl, MS community. He loved the Pearl Pirates football team and even after he couldn’t attend in person, he was watching on television most Friday nights. He was a fun-loving people person who seemed to know everyone in Rankin County. He was never too busy for his children and grandchildren, all of whom will miss him greatly.
Jim was a devoted Christian and loved Jesus. He was an ordained deacon and served at Pearson Baptist Church and McLaurin Heights Baptist Church in Pearl. He was a role model of his faith. It is comforting for the family to know that Jim is in the presence of Jesus now as you read this.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Poole Withers; his father, Bill Withers; his mother, Mary Higginbotham Withers, and his brothers; Roy and Joe Withers.
Jim is survived by his two sons and their wives, Jim and Natalie Withers and Dan and Amy Withers: and his grandchildren and their spouses, Cameron and Ashley Dobson, Haley Withers and Rich Wilyman, James Withers and Abbi Matheson, and Brittany Withers.
