

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm, Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home. Funeral services are 11:00am, Friday, February 23, 2018, in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Services will be officiated by John’s brother-in-law, Rev. Joe Truxillo. Pallbearers will be Shane Goode, Brannon Walls, Blake Walls, Kelly Warren, Bill Devine, and Paul Devine.
John was born May 27, 1937, in Jefferson City, Missouri, a son of the late John W. Walls, Sr., and Rose Devine Walls Lassett. Raised in Mississippi, John graduated from high school in Lexington. He later served our country with the U.S. Air Force.
John was devoted to his family. He and his wife, Bernice, worked together to establish their business, Walls Drapery, in 1974. Together they worked side by side for more than forty years. Following her death, John continued to operate the business in Pearl until his retirement in 2011.
John was a long-time member of Truitt Memorial Baptist Church in Pearl.
He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, and was a dedicated Saints fan. For many years his company, Walls Drapery, sponsored a local softball team. In addition, he and Bernice enjoyed bowling and were on a league together.
John’s favorite times were spent with his family, and he loved nothing more than watching his grandkids play sports.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Lillian Bernice Walls.
Survivors include daughter, Renea Hickey; sons, Randall Walls and wife Glenda, and Donald Walls and wife Mary Carol; sisters, Glenda Cochran and Judy Truxillo; brothers, James Walls and Paul Marshall; grandchildren, Natasha Warren, Shane Goode, Mason Hickey, Cole Hickey, Brannon Walls, Heather Lee, and Blake Walls; and great-grandchildren, Samantha Boone, Caleb Boone, Ian Boone, Taylor Goode, Barrett Goode, Beckham Walls, Greer Walls, Ethan Lee, Connor Walls, and Luke Walls.
