

Judy Coleen Bates Rogers, owner of Industrial Steam Cleaners in Jackson, died suddenly from a brain hemorrhage on, Friday, August 9, 2013, in Jackson. Visitation will be Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Ms.Rogers was born in Jackson on August 6, 1945, the daughter of Elijah Bates and Coreane Bates. She, along with her husband Ernest Lazarus Rogers, Sr., until his death, served customers in central Mississippi, providing and servicing steam cleaners and pressure washers. Subsequent to her husband's passing, Ms. Rogers assumed full ownership and operation of the business over the last three years. Always finding the fun in life, Ms. Rogers delighted in spending time with her family, especially playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence, and held dear the ladies in her Sunday School class. She loved to travel, with trips shared with friends and family to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, being her favorite. Judy Rogers was blessed with creative talent, particularly as a seamstress, giving of herself creating garments for her loved ones. Also, she gave and received joy in hosting her children and their families to share her good cooking. Ms. Rogers reveled in networking via the internet with her many friends and family, always embracing the latest technology. Perhaps her fondest hobby was genealogy, logging countless hours at the Mississippi Historical Archives, and online, researching her family's lineage. She was a huge Elvis fan known to flood her house with his gospel performances on Sunday mornings to get her four children up and ready for church.
Ms. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, father and mother. She is survived by sons, Timothy Scott Rogers of Florence and Ernest Lazarus Rogers, Jr. and wife Amber of Madison; daughters, Trenia Marcel Rogers Ainsworth and husband Joey of Magee and Tammy Ernesta Rogers Collins and husband Chris of Union; brothers, Bobby Bates and wife June, and Charles Bates and wife Patricia; sisters, Janet Bates and significant other Kevin Bartholomew, Linda Bates Williams and husband Fred, and Marilyn Peyton and husband Wes; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and her dogs, Jackie, Penny and Dixie.
