Katherine lived in Pearl, MS over 64 years. She was a master seamstress, quilter and avid reader. She loved her muscadines, making more jelly than she could give away. Katherine baked dozens of loaves of her Friendship bread and tried a new cookie recipe every week. But, just ask her grandchildren about her Memaw muffins and cookies and their faces tell you of the joy to receive some. Sweet memories.
Memaw, as Katherine was known, hand pieced and quilted each child and all grandchildren their own special quilt as a baby and as some are graduating she has presented them with a new personalized one. Memaw was especially proud of creating original quilts for her three little Shearer great grandchildren in Baltimore. Her super hero quilt was a true reflection of her skill.
Katherine spent many Sundays with her special friend and quilter, Shirley Smith, and Katherine 's children are grateful for her love of Memaw.
She is survived by children, Kathy Dawson (John ), Belinda Sauter (Bob), Jimmy Flint (Julie), and Sheila Goza (Mike); sister, Betty Morrow; grandchildren, Joshua Dawson, Shannon Stanley (Hal), Jinny Bailey (Andrew), Matt Flint (Emily), Jordan Goza (Ashley), and Dr. Brandon Goza (Morgan); and great-grandchildren, Connor and Rowan Dawson, Mary Katherine, Lee Ellen, Virginia, and Harold Stanley, Andie and Ryne Bailey, Braelyn Flint, and Addison Grace and Ann Marie Goza.
