Larry leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Gay Gipson; his children, Lisa Runnels (Jeremy), Jamie Grantham, and Montana McNair; his grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart, Abigail, Annabelle, Judith, Beau, Liam, Luke, Layla, and Forrest; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and family who were near to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Irene Gipson; brother, Cecil Gipson; sister, Linda Baty; brother-in-law, Ricky Wynn; and nephew, Tyler Wynn.
Larry was a member of First Ridgeland Baptist Church where he served at the food pantry. He loved the Lord and was a faithful servant his whole life. He leaves behind a wholesome legacy.
Larry was an avid bass fisherman having fished in tournaments with the Fishing League Worldwide and the Pearl River Bass Club. He loved to sit with Jesus and to teach his grandchildren to fish.
He was a brick, block and stone mason for 50 years. As such he traveled throughout the state and crafted some of the most beautiful buildings in Mississippi, including structures on the campus of USM and the MS Archives building.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 3:00pm, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00pm.
