Zeke, as he was known to family and friends, was born on October 24, 1957, in Hinds County, Mississippi, to Mr. Charles Edward Keen and Mrs. Lucille Cone.
He was a career fireman spending 23 years with the Jackson Fire Department and worked his way up the ranks to Captain before retiring and worked as a neonatal transport driver for University of Mississippi Medical Center. He was a past secretary of the Jackson Fire Department Union. He also helped his in-laws Delores and Pickle Stuart on their farm raising soybeans and raising cattle.
In 1978, he met the love of his life Ms. Kim Stuart, and they were married in June 1980. He enjoyed traveling with his daughter to her softball games, coaching baseball, deer hunting with his boys, and was a dog man especially labs. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren that loved their PawPaw and would brighten his day when they walked in the room.
Known as a protector and provider he always stood for what was right and never met a stranger. He would help family and friends when he could. Showing the servants heart that he had.
Mr. Keen is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harry Keen and Ralph Keen; sisters, Diane Keen Hughes and Sandra Keen Kohl.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Kim Stuart Keen; daughter, Brittney Keen; sons, Shawn Keen and Jared Keen (Lacey); brother, Greg Keen; grandchildren, Halea Keen, Hannah Keen, Hayden McCoy, Brody Keen, and Ella Jane Keen; and his canine, Bully.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will follow.
