Lisa was born in Jackson, MS on September 15, 1961, to Willette and Wilma Fay Beard and was a lifelong resident of Brandon. She married Charles Darrell “Chuck” Scallorn on July 28, 1982. Chuck told a friend on the day he met Lisa that he had met the girl he would marry one day.
Lisa worked in accounting all her life and was employed by Wraser Pharmaceuticals for the past nine years. She put her entire heart into everything she did, be it work, family or faith. She attended church at Pinelake in Brandon and served God by serving others. She paid attention to the needs of everyone around her and when she saw a need, she didn’t wait to be asked for help, she took action to meet the need, no matter how big or small.
Her life revolved around her family. She loved playing softball when she was younger and got so much joy out of watching her grandchildren play ball in addition to competing in karate, dance, and cheer. She was a steadfast supporter and encourager not only at every game and competition, but at most every practice as well. Lisa was devoted to her parents and always made sure they had everything they needed. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for her grandchildren’s birthday parties and family events, along with hosting her large family at her home each year for the holidays. Lisa was looking forward to welcoming her fifth grandbaby in early November.
Lisa showed the love of Jesus everywhere she went, striking up conversations with strangers and taking a genuine interest in their lives—she made many friends that way and always left people better than she found them. Simply put, to know Lisa was to love her.
Lisa is survived by her husband Chuck along with their daughters, Lindsay Evans (Jason), Brittany Noble (Casey); grandchildren, Landon Evans and Addie Evans, Avery Noble and Ezra Noble; her mother, Wilma Beard; siblings, Barbara Jeffries (Danny), Eugene Beard, and Danny Ray Beard (Jennifer); brother-in-law Michael McGee, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Willette Beard, and sister, Sheila McGee.
Pallbearers will be Dan Jeffries Jr., Chris Beard, Ben Beard, Bryant Scallorn, David Earl Scallorn, and Tony Netherland. Jeffrey Coy and Hunter Jeffries will serve as honorary pallbearers.
