A lover of art, she studied sculpture with Samuel Gore at Mississippi College and graduated from Belhaven College. Marian taught art at Bailey Junior High. She also worked for political columnist Bill Minor. She retired in her late 70s from the Veteran’s Administration after many years of faithful service.
Marian loved her family and was blessed to meet two of her great-grandchildren last May in person. She was proud of all her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments.
Marian enjoyed nature, loved animals and had many pet friends. She loved music and listened to everything from Hank Williams to Cat Stevens. She believed in education and loved books and literature. Marian delighted in simple pleasures like the blooming of the daffodils in spring.
Marian is preceded in death by her former husband Edgar Bobo, MD, her husband Edward Engelhorn (widowed) and son Jeff Bobo.
Survivors include children Stephanie Bobo (Dewitt Brock), Diana Cheairs (Jim), Lisa Bobo, James Bobo (Wendy); daughter-in-law Christina Westhaver (mother of Aliyah); grandchildren Crystal Cheairs (Stan K. Dank), Cayce Cheairs (Bradley Edmison), Taylor Cheairs, Joshua Bobo, Amelia Bobo and Aliyah Bobo; and great-grandchildren Maxixa Dank-Cheairs, and Linden and Tilia Edmison; and many loving friends, especially her dear friends at Plain View Assisted Living.
Visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2:00pm, Saturday, February 5, 2022, at St. Jude Catholic church in Pearl. Mass of Christian Burial Services will follow at 2:00pm at the church, with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
