Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm, Friday, February 5, 2016, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am, Saturday, February 6, 2016, in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Irene was born on Saturday, December 29, 1934, in Scott County at Clifton, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Richard Homer Calhoun and Onie Mae Harrell Calhoun. She was a graduate of Pearl High School and was employed with the Credit Department of Sears for 35 1/2 years.
Irene was a longtime member of Pearson Baptist Church. Later she attended First Baptist Church of Pearl where she was a member of the Audrey Sunday School Class, taught by her best friend, Sheila Tedder.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by sister, Sue Alford, and brother, Richard Calhoun.
Survivors include her brother, Truitt Calhoun and his wife, Bonnie, of Lafayette, Louisiana; 4 nieces and 3 nephews.
